Do you enjoy programming? Audio and Music software is your thing? Tired of working in FLOSS projects without getting paid? Need a part-time job for this summer?
(If the answer to any of these questions is YES, keep reading…)
We are happy to announce that the CLAM project is participating in the 2007 edition of Google’s Summer of Code.
Updated: Google’s SoC is already open for aplications. More information in the CLAM GSoC 2007 wiki page.
Google Summer of Code is a program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source projects. Google will be working with a several open source, free software and technology-related groups to identify and fund several projects over a three month period. Historically, the program has brought together over 1,000 students with over 100 open source projects, to create hundreds of thousands of lines of code. The program, which kicked off in 2005, is now in its third year, following on from a very successful 2006.
We are very excited to offer a number of ideas that would benefit CLAM now that it is about to reach its 1.0 release. If you are a student with programming skils and are interested in audio/multimedia we encourage you to apply before the March 24th deadline. We also encourage you to propose new ideas if you feel none of the ones offered by the CLAM team suits your profile or interests.
Looking forward to working with you…
The CLAM team

David and Pau are going to attend to the upcoming Linux Audio Conference in Berlin next week (LAC2007 for short). The program is really appealing with lots of hands-on sessions. We are presenting the visual prototyping architecture of CLAM along with some live demos. A perfect occasion to get in contact with many people. See you in Berlin!

We are glad to announce CLAM 0.98 a.k.a. ‘Mac is here to stay’.
This is the first release not developed within the MTG since its main developers now work at the GTI, also at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Still, CLAM is very indebted to the MTG people.
Most of the work has been on having stable building, testing and packaging on Mac. Check out the MacOS download section on the web for applications DMG’s. We have received valuable and stimulating input for the MacOS build from Christopher Tignor, Volker Schumacher, Eduard Aylon and Stéphane Letz. Thank you all for your help.
Apart from MacOS build, this release features KDE integration for NetworkEditor and Prototyper (so you can open network files from Konqueror), MFCC’s added to Annotator’s extractor example, and several fixes (thanks James).
FLTK module has been dropped and it is not being compiled by default. It will be completely removed on the next release. Check out the changelogs for more details.
Next release will consist mainly on bugfixing towards 1.0, so please tests and report as many bugs as possible.
